Jun 01, 2013 DMG — When TMG lets go of one of its methyl groups, it deposits a substance called dimethylglycine or DMG. This is a B-complex vitamin and is used to improve speech and behavior in autism, for attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), epilepsy and neurological function. I've been using TMG and Methylfolate for extended periods of time on and off for about 2 years now. Both seem to be somewhat useful for energy, mood and sleep quality in small amounts (150 mcg methylfolate and/or 250 mg tmg) but at the amounts I was recommended, Methylfolate made me restless and manic while higher amounts of TMG.

Dimethylglycine (or DMG for short) is a derivative of the amino acid glycine — a building block essential for creating protein. It is present in the cells of all plants and animals, specifically in small amounts of grains and meat. Your body will produce DMG when metabolizing choline into glycine.
